Little Makers

Fine Motor & Pre-writing

Little hands explore making, building and mark-making before moving towards more controlled drawing and writing.

Children drawing, threading and building with teacher guidance

WHY THIS MATTERS

Little experiences.
Meaningful practice.

Fine motor experiences involve controlled movements of hands and fingers. Making, puzzles and using small tools offer opportunities to practise control and hand–eye coordination alongside early mark-making.

AT PLAY SCHOOL MASTERMIND

Our learning approach

Teacher-guided play makes room for practice, conversation and individual support. Examples for this learning area include:

  • Build and fit pieces together using blocks or puzzles.
  • Squeeze, roll and shape soft dough; draw or paint freely.
  • Explore patterns, marks and age-guided letter formation with adult support.

Activities are adapted to each child’s stage and the current class plan.

A JOURNEY AT THEIR OWN PACE

How the focus grows.

A LITTLE IDEA FOR HOME

Keep the connection going.

Offer paper and chunky crayons for free drawing. Invite your child to tell you about the marks rather than asking for a perfect picture.

See the learning in person.

Choose two preferred free trial days, Sunday–Thursday. Contact our team to confirm availability.
